Beyond Memetic Christianity

From Secular History to the Evolution of Consciousness

and convened to discuss the recent surge of conversions among public intellectuals, artists, and celebrities. We seek to distinguish between a purely cultural or utilitarian “memetic Christianity” and a deeper ontological encounter with Christ as a cosmic being. We draw on thinkers including Rudolf Steiner, Owen Barfield, Charles Taylor, and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin to illuminate how the Incarnation not only reorients individual souls but also transforms the course of human history and earth evolution itself. In this view, Christ is neither reducible to a mere social technology nor confined to dogma; rather, Christ stands as the living source of moral renewal and cosmic intelligibility, inviting free human participation in a redemptive, ever-deepening communion.
